•Festival of the Horse at PMC Equestrian Center
includes show of breeds, pole bending, barrel racing and cowboy poetry. Doors open at 11 a.m. Stick horse races, sack races and horse rides are available for the kids. Event and lunch are free for PMC residents and guests.
•‘Gold Dust or Bust’ is performed by Peak to Peak Mountain Charter School
students, 4 p.m. at the Pine Mountain Village gazebo. Following is a free BBQ dinner (donations appreciated) and auction fundraiser in Lampkin Park, 5 p.m.

Sunday, June 1
•Fort Tejon’s 31st Annual American Civil War Reenactment gala
stars Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis at 10 a.m.; Union-Confederate battles; a Civil War-era village,  (I-5, exit Fort Tejon Road, 3 mi. north of Frazier Park). Food is available for purchase. Tickets are $7 (ages 18+); $3 (ages 7–17); free (6 and under); families $18 (parents+children under 18); and scouts $2.
Focus Central Family Recital will be held from 3–5 p.m. at Shepherd of the Mountains Lutheran Church (6700 Lakewood Drive, LOW). This recital will showcase student talents and Focus Central’s visual and performing arts programs.
