Friday, October 31

•Peak to Peak’s students stroll around campus in the Literary Character Parade, 8 a.m. See your favorite story book characters come to life (19009 Cerro Noroeste, west of Pine Mountain Village).

•Frazier Park School’s Costume Parade begins at 12:45 p.m. (3149 San Carlos Trail, FP). Get your cameras ready!

•Trunk or Treat returns to Pine Mountain Village, 4 p.m. Don your costume, decorate your car trunk or truck bed and come on down to Pine Mountain Village to share or beg for goodies. Dress warmly.

•Artworks Community Gallery is holding a special event, 6:30–8 p.m, after Trunk or Treat (16233 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village). Come in for treats, surprises and goodies. Get your toes warmed and see new art!

•Falcon Halloween Football rally and game are against Bishop. Varsity plays at 5 p.m. It’s Senior Night, so don’t miss the half-time recognition of FMHS senior varsity players (700 Falcon Way, Lebec). JV football games are over for this season.

Saturday, November 1

•Visit Fort Tejon during its Dragoon Day program. Step back in time to an 1856 western U.S. Visit a working blacksmith shop, see open-hearth cooking, candle-making and more. This month living history presents a timeline event and FTHA fundraiser depicting different eras from 1837 LeBeck trappers through 1923 Third U.S. Coast Artillery (4201 Ft. Tejon Road, I-5 exit State Park, 3 miles north of FP).

*Pine Mountain Golf Shop holds free adult (2 p.m.) and junior (3 p.m.) basic swing clinics (2524 Beechwood Way, PMC). Golf clubs are available to borrow. Head Professional Jim English is available to help both novice and experienced players. Members and guests.

•Parent-Teacher Conferences for El Tejon Unified Schools begin today through Friday, Nov. 7. Minimum day release is at 12:15 p.m. for Frazier Park School and 1 p.m. at El Tejon Middle School and Frazier Mountain High School—all three days.

•Get your photo submissions for the Mountain Youth Photo Contest ready. Applications are due by December 1. Drop off submission at the Frazier Park Library, The Mountain Enterprise (across from ACE) , the new Artworks Community Gallery (16233 Pine Valley Lane, Pine Mountain Village) and Basecamp Café. Win cash prizes awarded in each category: ages 6–10, 11–14 and 15–18. Application form is in the November issue of The New Mountain Pioneer.

•Toys for Tots’ holiday program is now through December 12 . To donate new and unwrapped toys, go to the Family Resource Center (3015 Mt. Pinos Way, FP) or watch for collection boxes in Frazier Park, Lake of the Woods, Pine Mountain and Lebec.
