Saturday, December 20

•Santa will make a short stop at the PMC Condor Room, 12–2 p.m. (2425 Beechwood Way, PMC). *Festivities continue at 6 p.m. with the annual family Christmas party in the Pool Pavilion for members and guests. At 7 p.m. the adult Christmas party is open to the public.

•An FCC Amateur Radio Licensing test is offered 12–3 p.m. at the Frazier Park Library (3732 Park Drive, FP) by the Pine Mountain Amateur Radio Club. Testing is open to all who wish to obtain their licenses.

•In the Wings Studio of Dance presents ‘The Night Before…A Christmas Story’ at Frazier Mountain High School, 6 p.m. (700 Falcon Way, Lebec). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Presale tickets are $10 adults and $8 children (at In the Wings, 3524 Mt. Pinos Way, FP); at the door: tickets are $12/$10.

•Wear your ugliest sweater to bingo and compete for prizes at the VFW Post 9791 hall (behind Don’s Liquor, 612 Canada Trail, FP). Doors open at 6 p.m. Bingo is from 7–9 p.m.

Tuesday, December 23

•A Free Community Christmas Luncheon will be served 12–3 p.m. at Sky Motors (3612 Arroyo Trail) in Frazier Park. All are welcome to join in for a warm meal of ham, rotisserie chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes and dessert.

Wednesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)

•The Family Resource Center is closed today and will reopen on Monday, Dec. 29 (3015 Mt. Pinos Way, Frazier Park).

Thursday, December 25 (Christmas Day)

Wednesday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve)

•New Year’s Eve at the PMC clubhouse is open to the public, $63.50 per ticket. The fun begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dancing to the music of 360 Horns in the Condor Room. For reservations call 661.242.3788. At 7:30 p.m. a $14.99 buffet will be served. Once dessert is finished at the sit-down dinner, doors will open so all can enjoy the music and welcome in the New Year.

Thursday, January 1 (New Year’s Day)

•Take the Polar Bear Plunge at McMurtrey Aquatic Center (1325 Q St. in Bakersfield) at 11 a.m. The cost for this chilling start to the New Year is $5 for the plunge or $25 for the plunge plus a sweatshirt. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Ages 7 and above. Yes, a swimsuit is required.

•Donate a Christmas Dinner to a needy family by Thursday, Dec. 18. A contribution of $10–$20 will cover a ham or turkey for a local family. Contact the Family Resource Center at 661.245.4303 for details.
