PINE MOUNTAIN, CA (Monday, May 25, 2015 at 5:30 p.m.)–A motorist drove to Kern County Fire Station 58 in Pine Mountain at about 2:45 p.m. and reported that a vehicle had gone over the side of Cerro Noroeste Road several miles south of Mil Potrero Highway. A woman was reported to have fled the scene on foot, but was later found a short distance from the vehicle, disoriented with moderate injuries.

Photographer Lori Murphy snapped this photo of the wreck being investigated by a CHP officer at the scene.

Murphy writes: “We were going up [Cerro Noroeste Road]. She was going down WAY TOO FAST! The driver of this car passed us going downhill while driving erratically and speeding. On our way back down the hill we came upon this scene. The middle aged woman driver was transported from the site by Hall Ambulance. Her injuries were undetermined.”
