LEBEC, CA (Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at 5 p.m.)—After CHP canceled the pursuit, a Los Angeles news helicopter pilot informed CHP that the Mercedes vehicle was at the Chevron gas station at Wheeler Ridge getting gasoline.

LEBEC, CA (Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at 4:48 p.m.)—CHP has canceled the pursuit at Laval Road due to low visibility and the need for public safety.

LEBEC, CA (Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at 4:43 p.m.)—The vehicle is believed to be a gray Mercedes with a warrant for felony vandalism.

LEBEC, CA (Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at 4:30 p.m.)—A vehicle pursuit, which originated in the Los Angeles area, is passing through the Mountain Communities, according to CHP and Kern County Sheriff’s Department. Kern County deputies are closing off ramps and onramps along the northbound Interstate 5 in the area.
