Spirits were high and humor was playful at the Ventura County General Plan Open House at Lockwood Valley’s Chuchupate Ranger Station on Saturday, March 31. The friendly tone — even when talking about deadly serious issues such as firefighting and the need for nearby paramedics — was largely because of the respectful preparation by Susan Curtis, manager of the Ventura County 2040 General Plan Update; Senior Planner Shelley Sussman; Assistant Planner Clay Downing; and Manuel Minjares, field representative to Ventura County District 3 Supervisor Kelly Long.
