It’s been a 76 gas station, a Texaco station, a Fast Lube, White’s Automotive and more.

After 48 years underground, three gasoline storage tanks at 3433 Mt. Pinos Way in Frazier Park were hoisted onto trucks Thursday, Oct. 21 and hauled away for scrap metal. Two were 8,000 gallons and one was 9,000 gallons.

Property owner Baldev Kang told The Mountain Enterprise that final plans have not been made.

“It’s too expensive to put in a gas station,” he said. “The economy is too tight. I’m hoping to open a store.”

Kang said he may create a mini-mart. He bought the property in 2008 and hopes to make a final decision in 2011.
