Why is Holiday Faire MIA?

The happy chatter usually begins by this time each year.

You hear it in restaurants, at the post office, in beauty spas, schools, pizza parlors and grocery store aisles.

The talk comes with laughter. Eyes sparkle as ideas are exchanged for float entries in Frazier Park’s Festival of Lights Parade. That is followed by talk about booth displays for the Holiday Faire. But this year there is silence.

For at least 24 years, the parade, the cheerful anticipation of vendors’ booths, entertainers, hot cider, Christmas carolling and photo-ops with Santa (and sometimes even reindeer) have been the traditional kick-off to the holiday…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)
