Wildfire knocked down near Fort Tejon, I-5

LEBEC, CA (Thursday Oct. 1, 2015 at 2:26 p.m.)—Quick action by Kern County fire crews brought a knockdown of a 2-acre wildfire at southbound Interstate 5 near Fort Tejon. At about 1:45 p.m. a car fire led to a grass fire that headed up a hill. Within 40 minutes the fire was stopped by crews from Engines 56, 57, 55 and others. Additional engines, helicopters and dozers were canceled just before 2:30 p.m.
