Winter Weather Advisory for Wednesday through Thursday morning

UPDATE–Lebec, Frazier Park, Lake of the Woods, Cuddy Valley, Lockwood Valley, Pine Mountain Club, Piñon Pines (Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 at 9 a.m.)—A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by The National Weather Service, Jerry Ferris reports. “Wet roads will become icy in spots as colder air moves into the region later today and tonight.”

…A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 AM PST THURSDAY…

The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow…which is in effect from 8 AM this morning to 11 AM PST Thursday.

* Snow levels will be around 5000 feet today and lower to 4000 feet this evening.

* Snow accumulations by Thursday morning will range from a dusting to an inch at pass level and 2 to 5 inches above 5000 feet. Wet roads will become icy in spots as colder air moves into the region later today and tonight.

* LOCATIONS…Frazier Park…Cuddy Valley…Bear Valley Springs…
Tehachapi…Lebec…Interstate 5 through Tejon Pass…Highway 58 through Tehachapi Pass.

* WINDS…Westerly at 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph through the passes.

* IMPACTS…Winter driving conditions…slick snow covered roads and possible travel delays.
