Bring your friends and family to travel back in time for an 1856 Fourth of July Celebration at Fort Tejon State Historic Park this weekend. A unique living history experience is the most fun on the mountain for America’s Independence Day.

Costumed living history volunteers turn the U.S. Army outpost into a time machine filled with old-fashioned games and even cannon fire.

Volunteers will fire a 31-Cannon salute from the old army post parade ground in honor of the national holiday. Cannons will fire a salute for all 31 states in the union in 1856. [Caution: This event has loud noise.] Then play 1856 baseball and join the pie-eating contest and tug of war.
