Community members turn out for Harry and Curt Spyrka’s last day as owners at Ace Hardware

By Gary Meyer, TME

An impromptu gathering of individuals and local organizations assembled at Ace Hardware on Friday, Dec. 30 to say farewell to Harry and Curt Spyrka while the two completed their final day as owners of the hardware business the family had run for 46 years.

Curt will be in Bakersfield for some time. Harry will likely be heading to live in Bullhead City at some point where new owner Mark Schulein has—wait for it—an Ace Hardware store!

Sounds like Bullhead City could soon have a new resident who knows how to answer any question a hardware customer may have!

Would Harry go to work at another Ace Hardware store?

He’s always seemed to have so much fun at his own store in Frazier Park, why not?
