Moon Rovers? Mars exploration? No, trenching and laying fiber-optic cable is proceeding hand in hand through this stretch of U.S. Forest Service land between Lake of the Woods and Cuddy Valley. This image was taken at the end of January. It shows AT&T’s contractor working between bursts of El Niño storms. They are laying a continuous fiber-optic cable backbone through the Mountain Communities. More dependable service for CalNeva will result. AT&T may also provide enhanced services.
