On August 5, Neenach resident Jeff Zimmerman came upon this Highway 138 crash at 269th Street West. This one was a solo accident when a man hit the dirt berm at highway speeds. The air bag deployed. The window was shattered and the man went to the hospital with chest pain.

Proposed upgrades for Highway 138 will be explained at workshops Thursday, Aug. 25, 6:30–8:30 p.m. at Fox Airfield, (4555 W. Ave. G near Antelope Acres) and Saturday, Aug. 27, 9:30–11:30 a.m. at Grace Chapel in Neenach (25649 W. Ave. D). See the draft EIR at metro.net/nw138. The deadline for public comments will be September 19.
