Cooling Center To Open in Frazier Park at 95 Degrees

FRAZIER PARK (5  p.m., June 20, 3008) The Frazier Mountain Park Community Center (300 Park Drive) in Frazier Park will be opened as a cooling center when the emperatures are forecast to hit 95 degrees.  According to an advisory posted on the Kern County website, "During the summertime, senior citizens and others at risk from heat can find relief at cooling centers across Kern County." Residents using the centers are advised to bring their own water as well as books, puzzles or games to pass the time. Centers are typically open from  1 p.m. –  8 p.m.
