Last Sunday, the buck turned near Basil Court, just below Mil Potrero Highway. That was at about 8:35 a.m.

This young buck died about 68 yards from a home in Pine Mountain, allegedly killed by hunters shooting from a green Jeep Cherokee traveling west on Mil Potrero Highway. Neighbors confronted two men at the pullout where officers are standing. The arrow points to the house right next to the road, one of many in the neighborhood.

With Google Earth, Lynn Stafford was able to judge that the distance from the truck, and of the shot, to the nearby house was about 35 yards. The deer died about 33 yards from the road.

This deer was still 33 yards from the road on Wednesday morning.
