Earthquake rattles windows near Frazier Park

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 6:30 a.m.)—A magnitude 3.5 earthquake shook Frazier Park and surrounding areas at about 9:15 p.m. on Monday evening. According the US Geological Survey, the quake was centered about 3.1 miles north-northwest of Frazier Park at a depth of 2.48 miles. No damage or injuries have been reported to the newspaper at this time. Dennis Penna of Lebec said, “It sounded like a freight train going through my house!” Several quakes have occurred along and near the west coast of the continent in the last 24 hours, ranging from 2.5 to 4.5 magnitude, including one south of Baja California, Mexico beneath the Pacific Ocean.
