Fire Breaks Out on East end of Mt. Pinos

FRAZIER PARK, Calif. (Monday, Aug. 25) — A fire which broke out at approximately 5:20 p.m. on the eastern portion of Mount Pinos, near Sycamore Canyon and McGill Campground appears to be under control, according to Kern County Fire Public Information Office. The fire was contained at approximately two acres. Fixed wing aircraft which had been called were canceled. United States Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management responded to the fire. The cause is unknown at this time.
