Hands-on Science Lab-Fun for the Whole Family on Thursday

SCIENCE FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY: On Thursday, Oct. 24, at 3:30 p.m. the Frazier Park Library is presenting a Hands-On Science Activity in which children of all ages will get to use microscopes to explore exciting discoveries about DNA, cells, viruses and bacteria. Frazier Mountain High School’s Tamara Trost is partnering in this “One Book, One Kern” event.

The Eternal Life of Henrietta Lacks is the “One Book, One Kern” selection this year. This family fun science event echoes a scene in the book in which the family of Henrietta Lacks gets to look through a microscope to see their mothers’ cells which  have been used to create a revolution in medical research, including creation of the Salk Polio Vaccine.

On Saturday, October 26 “The Library Is Haunted” when local ghost stories for all ages begin at 3:30 p.m.  Local actors and story tellers, including the Classic Readers will be telling ghost stories throughout the library with age-appropriate tales.  Refreshments.
