High Speed Chase Ends with Crash through El Tejon School Fence

LEBEC (FRAZIER PARK area), CALIFORNIA (Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 at 4:45 p.m.) A high-speed car chase ended today when two Pomona residents crashed through the fence of El Tejon School at about 2:48 p.m. Students were scheduled to leave their classrooms at 3:05 p.m.The CHP report follows:

On 09-11-2012 at approximately 2:44 p.m., a CHP unit attempted to make an enforcement stop on a high speed vehicle. The vehicle, a 2010 Honda Accord, yielded just north of the Lebec Road over-crossing. As the Officer made an approach, the Honda accelerated and fled. A pursuit ensued as the Honda traveled at speeds in excess of 100mph. The driver lost control of the vehicle, just north of the Lebec School over-crossing, and crashed through the Tejon School fence. Both occupants of the Honda exited the vehicle and headed towards the school buildings. The female was taken into custody near the Honda. The male driver was walking through the courtyard and taken into custody without incident.
