“Join the conversation” and “Everyone pays their own way” were themes of the November 14 meeting of the Frazier Park Public Utility District (FPPUD) and Lake of the Woods Mutual Water Company (LOW) ad hoc preplanning committee.

The goal is to explore collaboration between well owners on the Cuddy Valley aquifer.

Above: Lake of the Woods Mutual Water Company is building a pipeline from its Dark Canyon Well on Lockwood Valley Road (near Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church) to its distribution system. The well is yielding only 15 gallons per minute (gpm) as compared to 200 gpm that their Cuddy Hall well produced just two years ago. That went dry in summer 2013. Now the 15 gpm is keeping the water company’s storage tanks full as the weather cools, said Water Operator Rafael Molina, Jr. last week.
