Two events in this next week offer an opportunity to create beauty at the heart of the Mountain Communities, while having fun with friends

Join the community clean up and lunch on Saturday, Aug. 22

Grab family and friends to head out to Frazier Mountain Park at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22 for some soul-satisfying volunteer work, followed by a tasty lunch. Join in the fun.

Meet in the parking lot (near the pond) for a safety briefing and equipment, then break into teams to spruce up Monterey Trail and Mt. Pinos Way. A roll-off container to deposit trash bags will be located at The Mountain Enterprise parking lot (across from Ace Hardware) for easy deposit during the three-hour event. At noon, everyone will meet for a delicious lunch at Caveman Cavey’s Pizza, hosted by National Cement.

Wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Also wear a big happy smile for helping to beautify your community!
Event sponsors also include Price Mountainside Disposal, Fastenal Industrial & Construction Supplies, Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce and Supervisor David Couch.

Help develop the Frazier Mountain Park Master Plan to be all you want it to be on Thursday, Aug. 27

We all get another shot at dreaming out loud together about what would be wonderful to include as part of the gem at the center of the community: Frazier Mountain Park. Act Two of the Master Plan project is Thursday, Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Bring your ideas, plans, examples, family and friends for a community brainstorm on how to improve the beauty, fun and safety of the park. A creative master plan is needed to attract grant money to the project, said Kern County Parks Director Bob Lerude.

The next meeting will be Thursday, Aug. 27, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Frazier Mountain Park
Community Center.
