Our mountains held a treasure chest of fun on the first weekend in October. The Frazier Park Vintage Motorcycle Festival and the Ridge Route Museum’s Peddler’s Faire lured hundreds out to play Saturday as snow shimmered along the ridgetops.

Jousting Bachelors learned ancient martial arts in Lockwood Valley and historians in costumes at Fort Tejon in Lebec cooked over open hearths and re-lived barracks life of 1857. Sunday warmed with sparkling sunshine. The national Model A Ford Club’s Bakersfield chapter hosted greater Southern California members in Frazier Park for their 45th annual potluck. National motorcycle riding clubs toured winding roads through Pine Mountain.
