If you are seeking adventure this Labor Day Weekend, try the Pine Mountain Oktoberfest with its first annual Art Walk in Pine Mountain Village on Saturday, Sept. 4. The village merchants are sponsoring a miniature train ride through the village, shuttling between an exciting safari of creativity in the village and the musical fun at Lampkin Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"This will help visitors move to and from each event, as well as provide increased transportation and parking for the elderly and handicapped," Richard Hood of Robin Hood’s Jewelry said. Mike Cram, curator at the Work of Heart Gallery in Frazier Park, has worked with the Pine Mountain Village Merchant’s Association to create this first Art Walk event.

Chalk arrows will clearly mark the route from artist to artist. Artists will be there in person to greet everyone at 19 locations and to display their work.

The Oktoberfest celebration sponsored by Pine Mountain Club Property Owners Association in Lampkin Park is entering its 35th year. Admission is free and the general public is invited.

It offers two days of music, vendors, drawings, food and fun from Saturday, Sept. 4 to Sunday, Sept. 5. There is entertainment for all ages, including the children. The vendor fair and children’s activities run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Music from noon to 11 p.m. spans Kings of Classic Rock to traditional Oktoberfest music.
