Roads clear. Two Hour Delay for El Tejon School March 3

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, March 3 at 6:45 a.m.)—A two-hour delay has been called for El Tejon School due to ice, according to Patrice Barnes, school bus supervisor.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Monday, March 2 at 11 a.m.)—About .30 inches of precipitation from rain and traces of snow in Frazier Park is reported by Jerry Ferris of Frazier Mountain Weather this morning.

He said no precipitation was shown for Friday. Saturday read at .06 inches and Sunday was .20 inches, with .04 inches on Monday so far.  The trace amounts of snow on Sunday and Monday melted to be measured as precipitation.

In Pine Mountain however, another 1.0 inch of snow fell early Monday morning, after about 0.25 inch of snow fell on Sunday, but melted before the second and third waves of snowfall arrived. The melted precipitation at 6,000 feet is measured at 0.25 inches Friday through Monday at 11 a.m.

LEBEC, FRAZIER PARK, CUDDY VALLEY AND PINE MOUNTAIN, CA (Monday, March 2 at 8 a.m.)—El Tejon Unified School District has cancelled school today. Have fun out on those sledding slopes!

About another inch fell on the Pine Mountain community at 6,000 feet last night. Roads are clear. Kern County and the PMCPOA have cindered residential roads, Mil Potrero Highway and Cuddy Valley Road.

PINE MOUNTAIN, CA (Sunday, March 1 at 11 a.m.)—It’s back, but as a light, misting rain blowing across the sky. Very pleasant. We may have some fancy rainbows in store before long.

It is still cold enough that little 1/16 inch hail stones are falling alternately with the rain. They melt almost immediately.

PINE MOUNTAIN, CA (Sunday, March 1 at 10 a.m.)—“is that it? Is it over?” That is the question being asked on the mountain right now. The one inch of snow in Pine Mountain has already been absorbed by the thirsty ground and melted on decks. It was joyful this morning when the sky was filled with fluffy (but dry) snowflake clusters. So, travelers, be assured, no inconvenience today so far.

PINE MOUNTAIN, CA (Saturday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.)—Only 1/4 inch of snow fell at 6,000 feet in the Pine Mountain community today. Thick clouds are flowing through the Mountain Community valley areas, but there is only light precipitation through the rest of the region so far. Here the the National Weather Service advisory this afternoon.
