Ridge Route Run Opens Next Wave of Mountain Fun

The Ridge Route Run Car Show is the new kid in town that has become an instant success among mountain festivals.

On Saturday, May 26 the streets of Frazier Park will be transformed with this third annual event. Kevin Lundin of Piñon Pines and his hardworking team from the Frazier Mountain Car Club have pulled together a party that will rock from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with music, vendors, vans of people doing good deeds for veterans and sensational cars with their friendly owners, family, friends and enchanted mountain residents.

Honoring Memorial Day weekend is a centerpiece of the event, as the Mobile Vet Center will be there to help local veterans file claims and get counseling about veterans’ services.

Car show competition categories range from the ‘Best 1939 or Earlier’ car, and for each decade after that; Best Truck and Best Classic Car; Muscle Car; Hot Rod; and Work in Progress. Mustangs and Corvettes are given special attention with trophies for Best 1972 and Earlier Mustangs and Best 1973 and newer; Corvette categories are Best 1983 and older and Best 1984 and newer. There are also trophies for ‘Best Rat Rod;’ Best Import; and the car that comes from the longest distance.

Trophy sponsors include Frazier Mountain Real Estate, Janitorial USA, PC Pal, Frazier Mountain Internet, Frank and Michelle Maga, Frazier Park Pharmacy, Ridge Route Antiques, Ace Hardware, Caveman Cavey’s Pizza, La Sierra Restaurant, State Farm, Star Cycle, Heartsill Chiropractic, Midway Market, Alpine Lumber, Benda Home Inspection, A-1 Auto Sales and Loan, Steve Martin’s Working Wildlife, Frazier Park Market, Grapevine Auto Parts, J&B’s Grill and BBQ, All Seasons Realty, TXI and California Highway Patrol.

Collections of nonperishable foods will also be taken at the veterans’ van and around town to stock a veterans’ food pantry. Find drop-off bins at Midway Market in Lake of the Woods, Pine Mountain Market and the Chevron Station in Lebec.
