Sheriff’s Log — June 12 to 18, 2014

Those named here have not had their day in court and must be presumed innocent until proven guilty, according to the law. Listing here is not a report of a conviction. This is a log of law enforcement activity from the Kern County Sheriff’s Frazier Park substation. These are public records. The Kern County District Attorney may or may not have filed charges. If you have been listed in the Sheriff’s Log and have proof of charges being dismissed by the D.A., please provide complete documents to us for reporting.

On June 12, 2014 at about 8:10 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to call a Lebec resident to investigate an identity theft. Unknown person(s) ordered a credit card using the identity of another and made at least two fraudulent charges, totaling over $2,700.

On June 12 at about 3:20 p.m. a man came to the Frazier Park substation and reported that unknown person(s) stole his TomTom GPS system from his pickup, while it was parked on the 3400 block of California Trail in Frazier Park.

On June 12 at about 11:45 p.m. a deputy contacted Kelly Kermode at a house on the 4200 block of Decator Trail in Frazier Park, and arrested her on an Orange County theft warrant.

On June 13 at about 2:30 p.m. a deputy contacted Toby Barajas at a house on the 600 block of Fresno Trail in Frazier Park, and cited him for suspicion of being under the influence of a narcotic.

On June 13 at about 10:05 p.m. deputies contacted Alice Hobbs at a house on the 4200 block of Decator Trail in Frazier Park, and arrested her on a possession of drugs for sale warrant.

On June 14 at about 10:30 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a house on the 900 block of Louise Way in Lebec to investigate domestic violence. Jose Muñoz was arrested for suspicion of committing spousal abuse and child endangerment.

On June 15 at about 1:05 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a house on the 3500 block of Texas Trail in Frazier Park to investigate domestic violence. Brieanna Adargo was arrested for suspicion of committing spousal abuse.

On June 15 at about 5:35 p.m. a deputy contacted Tyson Snow on the 3400 block of Montana Trail in Frazier Park and arrested him for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and possessing controlled substance paraphernalia.

On June 17 at about 6 p.m. deputies conducted a probation search at a house on the 700 block of Circle Drive in Lebec. Christine Van Meter was arrested for possessing suspected methamphetamine and suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, and Amanda Orosco was arrested on a drug warrant.

On June 18 at about 1:30 p.m. deputies were dispatched to a house on the 4100 block of Decator Trail in Frazier Park to investigate a peace disturbance. Mary DeMaio was cited for suspicion of possessing controlled substance paraphernalia.

On June 18 at about 1:20 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a business on the 3600 block of Arroyo Trail in Frazier Park to investigate vandalism after a vehicle in a parking lot was scratched. Tonya Engelbrecht was arrested for suspicion of committing vandalism. Court Notes — Charges dropped: Tonya Engelbrecht, who was listed in the June 12-18 Sheriff’s Log for suspicion of committing vandalism, provided documentation on July 28, 2014 showing the charges had been dismissed by the Kern County District Attorney’s office on July 7, 2014. The Mountain Enterprise verified that the information in the documentation she submitted was valid. Deputy District Attorney Kevin Briley told Superior Court Judge John V. Stroud that there was insufficient evidence to pursue the case.—The Mountain Enterprise appreciates receiving these documents and the opportunity to update the public about the dismissal of these charges.
