Tourism ‘Mini-Summit’ Set for September 25

By Patric Hedlund

The Kern County Board of Trade extended an invitation this week to Mountain Community festivals and tourism-related organizations and businesses to participate in a Kern County Tourism ‘Mini-Summit’ on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at the Kern County Museum. There is no charge for display space.

“It is a chance to remind people about all the festivals and attractions in your area,” Joanie Haenelt said.

The $100,000 Board of Trade tourism seed-grant fund was approved by county supervisors on August 27. Grant proposals are due by January. The ‘Mini-Summit’ event will be part of a dinner to honor the board of trade directors and the industry that brings $1.2 billion to Kern County each year.
