• $2.00 a Day: Living on Almost Nothing in America by Kathryn J. Edin and H. Luke Shaefer is this year’s One Book Selection at the Frazier Park Library. Pick up a copy and join the conversation. The discussion is set for Saturday, Oct. 14, 3 p.m. at the library. A related Storytime for youngsters on managing money well is set for Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 11:30 a.m.
• Calling all art lovers. A Silent Auction fundraiser is planned to benefit the Family Resource Center (FRC) on September 8, 9 and 10 at Artworks Community Gallery (16233 Pine Valley Ln., Pine Mtn. Historian Bonnie Kane will tell how the story of Hollywood celebrities, McCarthyism and the notorious blacklist are part of the history of this landmark in Lockwood Valley.
