Thursday, September 18

•Mountain Chamber of Commerce Business Mixer is hosted by the Ridge Route Communities Museum, 5:30–7:30 p.m. (3515 Park Drive, FP). It’s fun, it’s social and the museum is in the heart of Frazier Park. Everyone is welcome to the mixer, there is no charge. You can join the chamber’s business network for $75 a year.

•Join in the Color the Mountain 5K fun run, 1–4 p.m. at Frazier Mountain Park with family and friends. Get blasted with safe, allergy-free, colored cornstarch powder as funds are raised to help train young leaders in the Mountain Communities. •Public hearing for the Antelope Valley Area Plan Update will be Saturday, Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. in the Antelope Valley College Performing Arts Theater (3041 W. Avenue K., Lancaster). Public comment period is open on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) until October 6. Draft EIR is available at http://planning.lacounty.gov/tnc; call 213.974.6476 for more info. All comments received will be incorporated into the Final EIR.

•A total of $100,000 is available in Kern County Board of Trade’s Tourism Grant funds. Submit your non-profit’s proposal to attract tourist dollars. Apply at www.visitkern.com/grants/ before October 24, 5 p.m.
