• What can the flora of Tejon Ranch tell us about the flora of California? Join the Tejon Ranch Conservancy and guest lecturer, Nick Jensen at the Frazier Park Library (3732 Park Drive, Frazier Park), 6:30–8:30 p.m. Admission is free.

• The West Valley County Water District holds a public hearing on a proposed major rate increase at the District Office (25315 Ideal Avenue in Holiday Valley/ Neenach, CA), 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, March 7

• Fort Tejon’s Frontier Army Days Dragoon Program is 10 a.m.– 3 p.m. Visitors are invited to view the living history demonstrations of pioneer life for the common soldier and civilian men, women and children at this mountain outpost. Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for ages 7-17. Children 6 years and under are free. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch (the park has no concessions) and enjoy the picnic tables under the big oak trees (4201 Fort Tejon Road, Lebec, about 5 miles north on the Interstate 5, off at the Fort Tejon exit).

• Congressman Kevin McCarthy is accepting applications for summer internships. Applicants must possess good writing and computer skills, be enrolled in college or recently graduated with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
