Wasco earthquake felt in Mountain Communities

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at 4:39 p.m.)—The 4:03 p.m. event was followed by an aftershock measuring magnitude 2.5 at 4:34 p.m.

FRAZIER PARK, CA (Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at 4:05 p.m.)—An earthquake in Wasco at 4:03 p.m. was felt throughout the Mountain Communities this afternoon. Residents from Pine Mountain Club to Piñon Pines and Frazier Park reported their windows and cabinets rattling. The shaker was measured at magnitude 4.9 with the epicenter about 4 miles south-southwest of Wasco (23 miles northwest of Bakersfield) at a depth of 13.8 miles, and about 35 miles east of the San Andreas fault.
