Many times these stories do not have happy endings. So it is a relief when emergency responders can express a little humor—after it is confirmed that everyone is okay.

The report came in on Monday, April 18 at 2:58 p.m. California Highway Patrol got the dispatch for “a vehicle into an embankment” on Frazier Mountain Park Road, about a mile west of Monterey Trail. It was a white Range Rover. The report said the driver fled the scene, carrying a bottle of champagne.
