Winter Sports Awards Given

The Falcon soccer and basketball teams both have had strong seasons this year, but it has finally come to a close.

Both girls and boys soccer teams went to playoffs, losing their first game each, but still showed tremendous skill.

Girls soccer went 9-8-2, winning 8 games, losing one and tying one during league play. They finished first in league, tied with Bishop.

Boys soccer finished their season 10-5-2 winning 6, losing 3 and tying one in league. They finished their season in third place.

Basketball showed a lot of heart this year as well. Girls went 13-10 during their season and 5-5 during league, about the same as they did last year.

Boys went 11-10 during their season and 5-5 during league. This is the best the team has done in 7 years according to some players.

In soccer, Jessica Stegeman received the student athlete award. Cassandra Kashanski received the coach’s award. Sarah Ryan took the outstanding defense award and Rachel Rivette received outstanding offense. Anna Hart got most valuable player.

For league, all academic went to Kayla Burns and honorable mention went to Saryn Neeley. Stegeman, Kashanski and Genesis Arteaga were chosen for second team all-league, while first team all-league was given to Monick Powers, Sarah Ryan and Anna Hart.

Most valuable player in league ended in a tie, between a girl from Bishop and the Falcons’ very own Rachel Rivette.

As for the boys, Forrest Csulak received honorable mention. Second team allleague went to Orion Zorich productive on offense went to Jessica Pilgram and most aggressive went to Angel McNeeley.

In league, all academic went to Pilgram and honorable mention went to Henderson. Second team all-league went to Katy Teare and McNeeley. First team all-league went to Pilgram.

For the JV boys, Alex Oman received the most outstanding defense award, Anthony Pineau received most outstanding offense and Resean Phillips received most valuable player— he also had over 200 points the entire season.

Finally, for varsity boys, Robbie Stowell received most improved, Tyler Ryan received honorable mention, Patrick Moulder won best defensive player, Julien Deveroux won best offensive player and the most valuable player of the team went to Shane Ryan.

Finally for all-league, Josh Arreola won most academic and Patrick Moulder won honorable mention. Shane Ryan received second team and Deveroux received first team all-league.
