Did a mad neighbor become a ‘Mad Bomber’ on New Year’s Eve?

Two big explosions rocked the home of Robert and Margie Najera on Highland Way in Los Padres Estates on New Year’s Eve at 11:21 p.m. The neighbor across the street was afraid her husband—who is recovering from a stroke—had fallen out of bed. In an instant she confirmed he was safe and immediately decided it was a violent earthquake, she said.

Suddenly there were more noises and lights outside. Another neighbor yelled that the hedge in front of the Najera home was on fire. He rushed over with a garden hose to put out…(please see below to view full stories and photographs)

Deputies searched Corrigan’s home New Year’s Day, and made an arrest hours later.

On Louise Way, numerous homes have surveillance cameras on their roofs. Inside the Najera home and that of neighbors, evidence technicians Brenna Wuillamey and Kevin Thompson copied images of what had happened on New Year’s eve from the surveillance recordings.
