ETUSD asks Gorman district to ‘follow the rules’

There was a tense face off between the Gorman Joint School District Board of Trustees and the superintendent of the El Tejon Unified School District (ETUSD) on Tuesday, Jan. 12.

National School Choice Week is January 24-30 this year. Right on cue, ETUSD’s Superintendent Rodney Wallace said he is asking the Gorman district’s trustees to comply with state education code requirements if they intend to function as a School District of Choice (SDOC).

Wallace presented the Gorman board with a detailed statement in which he alleged that Gorman has sidestepped the rules for being a district of choice.
