Great Shake Out Takes Place Thursday, Oct. 21 at 10:21 a.m.

FRAZIER PARK (Monday, Oct. 18, 2:54 p.m.)—This week on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at 10:21 a.m., California will hold the Great Shake Out drill. The drill is to practice "drop, cover, and hold on" and other aspects of family, school, and organizational emergency plans. El Tejon Unified School District schools, the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Pine Mountain, Kern County Fire Departments, the Kern County Sheriff’s deputies and and others will be testing their emergency plans.

Earthquakes strike suddenly, violently and without warning. Identifying potential hazards ahead of time and advance planning can reduce the dangers of serious injury or loss of life from an earthquake. Check with your school, organization and workplace abotu earthquake plans.
