We received an excited note from Frazier Park’s Dawn Burns last week, which got us wondering what it would be like to have a February 29 leap year birthday. For Burns, turning 64 this year, it seems to be a fountain of youth:

“I was born in 1956 and will be having my Sweet Sixteen birthday this year!

“I share that leap year birthdate with Lou Marraccino (of L and M Fencing). Lou will be also be celebrating his 16th birthday. I was thinking it would be fun to have an article in the paper about folks born in a leap year on February 29. Any chance you could help find others born on this special leap year date of February 29?”

Done and done. Leap year babies of all ages, please join us on Saturday, Feb. 22, 11 a.m. sharp at the library for a photo op. We want to take your pictures together.

Just show up. Birthday cupcakes are on us! –Marcy Axness

Editor’s note: We are still looking for leap year babies. We plan to wish you Happy Birthday in our next issue, February 28.

This is part of the February 21, 2020 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
