Karin Shulman is finally doing her ‘brave things’

Just two weeks into her new job, Karin Shulman bounded into Bistro on the Greens from the PMC golf course for a quick interview. Looking energetic and relaxed in comfortable slacks and sandals, she was just back from Fern’s Lake where she was consulting with a biologist from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The dredging project at the popular fishing hole just east of the third green will create more water storage capacity for firefighters in an emergency.

“It looks as if this job suits you,” I said as she ordered an iced tea. She laughed in reply: “You know what my husband told me? He said, ‘I see the old Karin I used to know.’”

Shulman is not naive about the challenges ahead as general manager of Pine Mountain Club Property Owners Association (PMCPOA), but she also sees the opportunities.
