LEBEC, CA /Los Padres Estates (August 26, 2011 at 3 p.m.)— At 3:30 p.m. Friday the Krista Water Company confirmed it has resumed service to Los Padres Estates. A "boil water" order is in force, as the pipes are again put into service. The boil water order will continue until the State Department of Health tests are complete and clear.

Water from the Lebec County Water Company was being delivered to Krista’s tanks by truck for most of the week, Community Reporter Chandra Mead reported. Steve Cozzetto, president of the LCWD confirmed the arrangement on Thursday.

Pete Mack of Lebec reports that the problem began last Sunday when it was noted that there was no flow from the pump. When the well pipe was pulled, the upper casing from the pump fractured, allowing the pump to break away and fall to the bottom of the well, taking with it all of the electric cable which was piled on top of it.
