• Do good from a distance! Here are a couple ways to help out without leaving home. One of our intrepid community photographers and all-around super samaritan Mel Weinstein has put out the following requests, related to his regular volunteer work with the Taft organization Shar-On, which employs and empowers homeless folks:
* If you have any type of men’s pants in size 34-36, and also belts, please let me know. Plenty of women’s clothing has already been donated. The homeless warriors are in great need of these items. I go to Taft every week to bring clothes and pick up food.
* Also, if you know anyone in the film industry: a boom mike and stand are also needed. A fledgling film production company headed by my friend Julian Wilson is starting up in Taft. This is to teach the homeless warriors about making films. Call me at 310.829.6868.

• Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in the Mountain Communities are happening by Zoom at their regular times. For meeting call-in information, call Dave at 661.406.5816, or text 661.748.9525.
