• Recycle your Christmas tree at the Lebec Transfer Station (300 Landfill Road, Lebec). Kern County Waste Management asks that you remove tree stands, nails and decorations (no plastic garbage bags, please).
• Do you need help with your open enrollment for Medi-Cal Insurance and Covered California? Call for an appointment, Monday–Friday, at the Family Resource Center with a certified enrollment counselor (661-245-4303). Open enrollment ends February 15.
• Do you have a high school senior applying for college or are you considering returning to school? The 2015-16 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available. Complete the application, free, on the official government site, fafsa.gov.
