It may have taken a couple of years to work out the details, but a promise made is beginning to be kept for the people of the Oso/Fairmont area.
This week NRG Solar, LLC drew a check for $45,000 in a first mitigation payment to the Oso Town Council Foundation, a nonprofit entity developed to benefit the neighborhoods of Neenach and the Western Antelope Valley. An agreement had been made to begin payments when construction began, but the plant was finished over a month ago and the utility-scale facility is already pouring power into the grid.
