LOCKWOOD VALLEY (FRAZIER PARK), CALIFORNIA (Monday, Sept. 3 at 9:35 p.m.)–A number of Los Angeles news organizations have been reporting an incorrect location of the fire as being on Boy Scout Camp Road, which is north of Lockwood Valley Road. That was an early-reported incorrect location and would have the fire near residential areas. The fire is south of Lockwood Valley Road and west of Mutau Flats Road, as we indicated in our 12:25 p.m. report below, based on our on-scene photographer’s report. Phone calls have been received at The Mountain Enterprise office about the location of the fire. REPEAT: The fire is not on Boy Scout Camp Road. Boy Scout Camp Road is at least a mile and a half north of the fire.

LOCKWOOD VALLEY (FRAZIER PARK), CALIFORNIA (Monday, Sept. 3 at 3:49 p.m.)–U.S. Forest Service Public Information Officer Andrew Madsen reports that the fire is, so far, being held at 25 acres. Ventura County Sheriff’s Department staff in Lockwood Valley, when asked about the evacuation, said they had not been requested to conduct evacuations. No other information on the status of the fire is available at this time.

LOCKWOOD VALLEY (FRAZIER PARK), CALIFORNIA (Monday, Sept. 3 at 12:45 p.m.)–According to Kern County Fire Department Battalion Chief Kirk Kushen: The fire is at 25-30 acres, zero percent contained, four air tankers are enroute, in addition to three helicopters already on-scene. Fire command personnel have advised that west Lockwood Valley residents evacuate because there is concern that the wind could pick up and drive the fire into residential areas.

LOCKWOOD VALLEY (FRAZIER PARK), CALIFORNIA (Monday, Sept. 3 at 12:25 p.m.)--The fire is reported to be west of residential areas, up on the ridge of San Guillermo Mountain, south of Lockwood Valley Road and west of Mutau Flats Road. Crews and equipment appear to be mostly from Kern County, with Battalion Chief Kirk Kushen at the command post.

LOCKWOOD VALLEY (FRAZIER PARK), CALIFORNIA (Monday, Sept. 3 at 11:55 a.m.)–A brush fire is burning in Locwood Valley, near Boy Scout Camp Road.

U.S. Forest Sevice Public Information Officer Andrew Madsen reports that the fire is about 10 acres at this time and has a rapid rate of spread. Kern County Fire Department has responded to assist forest sevice firefighters. Forest service helicopter 528 and two air tankers are engaging the fire. “A full response is in effect,” Madsen said.
