$4 Million in Winning Bids for New Frazier Park Library To Be Approved

The new Frazier Park Library is a giant step closer to breaking ground. The Kern County Board of Supervisors is expected to sign $4,044,406 in construction and engineering contracts at its 2 p.m. session on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

The winning contractors are Tilton Pacific Construction, Inc. of Rocklin, California for $4,009,406 and DC Inspections, Inc., of Bakersfield for $35,000.

The Board had already approved the library’s building plans on June 23, 2009. Total project cost is estimated at $6,942,735.

The new 9,972 sq. ft. library project will include an audio/visual library; children’s library; fiction, non-fiction and periodicals sections; reference services; circulation services; computer/homework center; public meeting rooms; young adult services; and parking lot and landscaping.
