Bank Robber Hiding Out in Frazier Park Arrested

FRAZIER PARK-(Friday, March 27, 2009, 2:24 p.m.) During the week of March 23-26, the Sheriff’s Special Operations Unit assisted the Grants Pass (Oregon) Department of Public Safety in locating and arresting a fugitive from their area.

On January 18, 2008, the Umpqua Bank in Grants Pass Oregon was robbed. During the robbery, the suspect fired two rounds from his handgun while in the bank. No injuries were reported.

After a lengthy investigation, the Grants Pass detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Robert Alan Peters with robbery. Peters is described as a white male, 45 years, recently residing in Frazier Park.

On Thursday, March 26, the Special Operations Unit located Peters at 27580 Violin Canyon Rd in Castaic, Ca. He was arrested without incident and booked at the Kern County Jail for a warrant charging him with robbery, issued in Grants Pass Oregon. The Sheriff’s Special Operation Unit was assisted in this case by the Sheriff’s Frazier Park Substation, California State Parole Bakersfield Office and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Santa Clarita Station.
