FRAZIER PARK (Oct. 11, 2009, 8 a.m.)—Local stockcar racing hero Michael Kanke is in the lead for the SRL Southwest Tour Series after taking the cup at Irwindale on Saturday, Oct. 10. He will be returning to the Bullring in Las Vegas for the season finale on October 31.

Kanke won at the Bullring earlier this season. In addition to that and the Irwindale win yesterday, he brought home firsts from the All-American Speedway in Roseville and the Madera Speedway this season.

Kanke, wife Chris and his family are Mountain Community residents. They all participate in his racing team.
