Court Notes — Charges dropped

Tonya Engelbrecht, who was listed in the June 12-18 Sheriff’s Log for suspicion of committing vandalism, provided documentation on July 28, 2014 showing the charges had been dismissed by the Kern County District Attorney’s office on July 7, 2014.

The Mountain Enterprise verified that the information in the documentation she submitted was valid.

Deputy District Attorney Kevin Briley told Superior Court Judge John V. Stroud that there was insufficient evidence to pursue the case.

The Mountain Enterprise appreciates receiving these documents and the opportunity to update the public about the dismissal of these charges.

This is part of the August 1, 2014 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
