Dog Shot by Deputy in Frazier Park

FRAZIER PARK, California (Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, 9 a.m.)—The Kern County Sheriffs Office has just released a notice that on December 1, 2010 at about 5:40 p.m. deputies went to the 4200 block of Willow Trail in Frazier Park to investigate report of a physical assault. According to the report released by Sgt. Mark Brown, "During the investigation, a large pit bull attacked a deputy. To prevent being bitten, the deputy fired one round from his department issued duty weapon, striking one of the dog’s legs. The dog retreated into his owner’s home and survived."

Brown added that no people were injured during the incident.
