For the Record

The Tejon Ranch Company’s (TRC) incidental take permit was incorrectly said to protect TRC from legal action should a California Condor be accidentally killed as a result of the development of TRC’s Tejon Mountain Village commercial center and residential estates (The Mountain Enterprise, May 17 and May 31, 2013). In fact, the permit does not provide legal protection for accidental killing—or killing under any circumstances—of a condor. The permit provides legal protection to TRC for harassment of a condor. We regret the error.
